# Activate Your Discover Card on the Issuer's Website

> How to reach the real issuer site without falling for lookalike pages.

## Steps

    Open a fresh browser window and type Discover's web address into the address bar. Do not click links from emails, texts, ads, or unknown sites.

    Confirm you see a secure connection (padlock) and the correct spelled-out domain.

  <Step title="Sign in">
    Use your existing Discover account credentials.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Find the activation option">
    Look in your account dashboard and follow the prompts.
  </Step>

## Red flags

* Domain is misspelled or has extra words.
* Page asks for full SSN, PIN, or one-time codes it did not send.
* Layout looks slightly off compared to the app or previous visits.
